Weapon Shooting System Pro was built to cut down the complexity of weapon systems in first and third-person shooters. It wraps hit detection, tracing, projectiles, impacts, VFX, sounds, and weapon logic into a single actor component you drop onto characters or weapon blueprints. Shotguns, rifles, automatic weapons, and explosives all work out of the same framework, which means less time wiring up traces and more time iterating on how the guns actually feel to fire.

We made this for ourselves first. After three shipped games worth of iteration on weapon switching, blood effects, explosions, and all the edge cases that come with tight gunplay, we cleaned it up for public release. The goal was simple: a system portable enough to reuse across projects but open enough to extend when a design calls for something specific.

The core is an actor component that works with both first and third person setups. It handles hitscan and projectile weapons through line traces or spawned projectiles, with support for wall penetration, surface detection, and bullet tracers built in. Impact VFX, sounds, blood effects, explosions, and camera shake all tie into the same pipeline.

Weapon switching, runtime parameter changes, and blueprint control functions are exposed for gameplay programming. Custom weapon classes extend cleanly. The system works in Blueprint-only projects or mixed Blueprint and C++ setups.
