I’m Jan, a sound recordist and expedition master with over 8 years of experience venturing into some of the world’s most wild, isolated, and endangered natural habitats. My mission is to capture and share the sounds of Earth’s pristine environments that few can experience. Specializing in outdoor activities, wild camping, and expedition planning, I safely navigate remote wilderness areas to capture natural sounds. My work involves extensive fieldwork, carefully listening to recordings, and compiling audio libraries. While I thrive on adrenaline-fueled adventures, I also value slowing down in nature and embracing mindfulness. For me, sound recording is a path to developing a profound connection with oneself and the natural world, allowing us to fully appreciate the wonders of life in the present moment. Through numerous field activities, I’ve gained extensive first-hand experience in planning and executing all technical aspects required for successful expeditions in remote and demanding environments. Staying for weeks in challenging or dangerous field conditions while performing sound documentation has become my second nature. In 2018, I founded Earth Experience, a platform dedicated to sharing natural soundscapes with a global audience. My audio libraries serve as both creative resources for professional sound designers and valuable documentation of rapidly changing bioacoustic environments.
