The so-called “ridge helmets”, which appeared during the later centuries of the Roman Empire. They are characterized by a reinforced ridge riveted along the crown and a bowl constructed from multiple plates. Emerging in the late 3rd century, this design remained widespread until the 5th century CE, reflecting a shift toward more practical and standardized equipment.
