A Roman Equites helmet, combining a Weiler-type helmet from Xanten, Germany, and the Kalkriese facial mask from the Teutoburg Forest site. Highly decorated, it is adorned with a crown of leaves evoking the victories and rewards received throughout the wearer’s career.

This type of helmet was particularly associated with Roman cavalrymen, or Equites, and was used from the 1st to the 2nd century AD (c. 125–175 AD).

The original models come from the collection of the Mougins Museum of Classical Art.
