Descripción
This asset contains a manually modelled classical female hand based on the Aphrodite of Knidos type, referencing the fuller, soft proportions seen in the Palazzo Altemps sculpture. The hand is built from scratch with clean quad topology, a lightweight vertex count, and a complete articulation rig for precise finger gestures in real time or offline pipelines.
The proportions follow a slightly overweight classical ideal with rounded knuckles, soft transitions, and puffy anatomical forms. The mesh uses only the minimum number of vertices needed to guide the subdivision modifier, so it tessellates easily (LOD), deforms predictably, and remains efficient for editing. All parts of the hand are fully manually modelled using vertex pushing with clean, predictable topology.
The model is manifold and watertight. An STL file is included for 3D printing. Because the edge flow is clean and intentionally sparse, it avoids the heavy, irregular, noisy geometry typical of 3D scans. This makes it suitable for LOD generation, real time engines, offline rendering, and physical fabrication. You have full control of the polygon count.
Key features:
- Manually modelled classical female hand with fuller proportions
- Clean quad topology suitable for subdivision and deformation
- Fully rigged fingers for natural gesture control
- Lightweight mesh that edits quickly and performs well in real time engines
- Watertight STL suitable for 3D printing
- No scan noise, no random vertices, no broken geometry
- Backside fully modelled for complete, closed surfaces
Use cases:
- Character kitbashing where a clean, ready hand removes the need to sculpt and retopologize
- Digital restoration for replacing missing statue hands
- Environment compositions such as ruins, temples, and archaeological scenes
- Animation and gesture posing using the included rig
- 3D printing for decor, prototypes, or restoration mockups
Why use this instead of a 3D scan:
- Clean, predictable topology that deforms correctly
- Easy to modify without slowing down or crashing software
- No dense triangulated geometry
- No missing surfaces or damaged areas requiring repair
- Suitable for animation, LODs, real time engines, and printing
- Consistent, controlled geometry instead of irregular scan data
This asset prevents professionals from spending hours modelling a hand from scratch. It provides a clean, reliable, production ready solution that integrates smoothly into modern workflows. While it is designed with statue restoration in mind, the topology and rigging follow general industry principles, making it equally suitable for use as a character hand in games, films, and other digital productions.
If you're replacing a statue's hand, simply rotate the bones to match the gesture, apply the armature modifier, and export to STL for printing.
