Description

DarkLine SoftBall is an alien life form that looks like black "drawing" with Thin/Smooth lines or Tangled-Bold black tentacles. Asset comes with an softbody dynamic build of BP's, Ultimate material, and SKM with 5 LODs. This asset is part of Da0rkline series and Soft body series. DarkLine series is counterpart of XENO series. Xenos are more harmonic, nerve cell like aliens and theyare highly emissive. Darklines are less emissive, chaotic and dark entities.

As part of Soft Body series of assets, this asset is also physically dynamic and can be simulated or used as a character or NPC. Ball can mount on other characters and control them (parasitizing). Soft body assets also have real time dynamics to mimic liquid or jelly-like overall look.

Asset Features:

  • Fully physical skeletal mesh with 2 physical asset presets.

  • 48 Animations.

  • 2 BPs: 1 for ball Character and 1 for prey/mount. Player can Parasitize/control prey. also few small blueprints are added as bonus.

  • Ultimate material with rich settings.

  • Relax/stiffness HUD for better feedback and understanding.

  • Simple game menu (Can be seen in the demo).

  • SKM with 5 LODs. LOD 0: 139714; LOD 5: 5452

  • Stuck fixer will fix and save body from stucked narrow area.

Xeno Series and Darkline series materials are both a lightweight and highly optimized vertex shaders. This material gives you many settings like MPC, Noise movements on branches, scaling, rotating, bulge waves, thickness, pulse, opacity, emission, hue and more. All features use 4 type-mixable masks by growth, by length, by branch, and by segment. Even using and combining all of these features, Xeno material still remains a lightweight and green color in in shader complexity view, see videos or screenshots.

Important to know: 

- All previews are rendered in Unreal Engine 5.3 and screenshots were taken in 4.26

- Physics are different in UE5 because of a physics engine change. PhysX and Chaos Physics Systems  physics also changed in 5.1 and every newer version will be receiving their own bug fixes or changes.
