説明

Clean up your Unreal project without the fear of deleting something you need.

Every project collects dead weight: marketplace packs you used one mesh from, prototype folders, abandoned variations. Most cleanup tools find it, then ask you to trust a list and press Delete. If the list is wrong, your project breaks.

SafeSweep never deletes. It quarantines, lets you play your game to prove nothing is missing, and puts anything back with one click.

Three layers of safety

1. A conservative scan that tells you why
Every asset shows the reason it is kept: a map, a primary asset, a path in Config or C++, a path string inside a Blueprint or DataTable, or the exact asset that references it. Nothing is a black box.

2. Quarantine instead of delete
Selected assets move to a timestamped quarantine folder, keeping their folder structure. Every batch is recorded, and you can restore any batch, in any order, at any time.

3. A play-session guard
Some assets are loaded by a path built at runtime, and no scanner can see that. So SafeSweep watches while you play in the editor: if the game tries to load a quarantined asset, you get a warning on the spot, and after the session a button that restores exactly those assets.

What you get

  • Project size at a glance: total size, size per asset type, and every package sorted by size on disk.

  • By-folder view: a tree with size and "n of m unreferenced" per folder. Folders that are entirely unused, often a whole imported pack, stand out immediately. One checkbox selects everything unused in a folder.

  • Finds hidden references other tools miss:

    • /Game/ paths in Config/*.ini, C++ source and project plugins (folder paths keep the whole folder)

    • Path strings inside Blueprints, DataTables, maps and actor properties

    • World Partition / One File Per Actor levels: everything placed in the level is kept

    • Primary assets and Asset Manager rules

    • Assets used by plugin or engine content

  • Restore menu: pick a batch by time and contents, or restore everything.

  • Handles real team workflows: if a source control update brought an asset back while its copy sat in quarantine, SafeSweep skips it and tells you, instead of failing the whole restore.

  • English and Korean UI, per user, following the editor language by default.

  • Editor only: nothing ships with your game.

Who it is for

Solo developers and small teams preparing a build, trimming a repository, or inheriting a project full of imported packs.

Compatibility

  • Unreal Engine 5.5 and 5.8 (tested in the editor on both)

  • Windows
