New in V5.6.4

  • Fir tree tops are recreated. There are also few material changes because of this.

New in V5.6.3

  • Fully modelled/opaque blended versions of every deciduous tree (50/50) added to achieve the best performance with Nanite

  • Fully modelled/opaque blended versions (40/60 pcs) added of Torrey Pine (10), Stone Pine (10), Monterey Pine (10) and Monterey Cypress (10) to achieve the best performance with Nanite

New Features in V5.6 - DZ Assets 5.6 Tutorial

- folder structure changed so that all the DZ assets are now under DZ_Assets folder

- common wind control blueprint added for controlling all the DZ assets

- this wind control blueprint adjusts wind strength and direction and controls all the V5.6 DZ Assets of the project at the same time

- wind direction is easily adjusted now by rotating blueprint arrow in the viewport

- wind strength is now adjusted in the details panel of the wind control blueprint

- physics materials added so that leaves/needles and trunk/branches have their own collision physics

- All the trees have accurate collisions now to support simulation kind of behavior

- all the minor lighting issues that have appeared to some trees in the later UE versions (dark self shadowing) are fixed

- Some remeshing is done to fix those lighting issues so Nanite triangle count has increased a little in some trees

This Bundle includes DropZone Studios' assets:

DZ Trees - Conifers (Pines, Cypresses and Firs)

DZ Trees - Deciduous Trees (Oaks, Red Oaks and Maples)

DZ Conifer Trees:

With these high-quality 60 (+40) coniferous trees, you can create impressive environments and conifer forests from all around the world. This asset includes high resolution Nanite models and textures of six different tree species. Lower trunks have been displaced based on bark height map textures. Shaping the trunk based on the height/displacement maps is an alternative method to photogrammetry, and it does not compromise the resolution/accuracy of the bark textures. Professionally made tree models, textures and materials ensure that the quality is in line with the best assets in the Market Place.

DZ Deciduous Trees:

With these 50 (+50) very high-quality deciduous trees that are photographed in the Finnish forests and parks you can create unbelievable environments for any purpose you can ever imagine. This asset includes high resolution Nanite models and textures of three different tree species. Our updated materials with most easy to use stepless seasonal settings and incredible wind effects make these trees just perfect for every purpose from games to architectural purposes. It’s hard to believe that all the DZ trees are actually game ready assets. Get yourself to our YouTube channel and prove it to yourself.

Full Nanite support:

All the trees are high-res Nanite meshes and are using Nanite by default. Everything is optimized to achieve the best performance without compromising quality.

Full Lumen support:

This product supports Lumen in all the supported engine versions mentioned in the beginning of this product page (UE 5.1 and above). Lumen can be activated in "Project Settings" => "Rendering" => "Global Illumination" => "Dynamic Global Illumination Method" => "Lumen". More information about Lumen can be found in Unreal Engine 5.0 documentation.

Efficient and highly user-friendly materials:

Master materials are very easy to understand and effective. Material instances created from them allow easy customization of trees and wind effects according to your wishes. Wind effects are very cheap for PC performance, yet very realistic. Watch the tutorial videos to get an idea of all the useful features that these versatile materials offer. These include, for example, blending two bark textures using vertex color, stepless and most realistic seasonal settings (including snow and wetness), possibility to add moss/lichen and peeled bark to trunks and branches, adjusting the visibility of leaves/needles, adjusting the amount of leaves (masked leaves), killing the wind effect smoothly according to the distance and mixing different wind directions with different strengths. Wind effects also use two vertex colors to get branches move more naturally.

DZ Trees - Bundle Vol1 features:

Made for Unreal Engine 5.1 and above

High resolution Nanite meshes for trees (110+90 pcs)

High resolution textures

V5.6, common wind controller blueprint for controlling wind direction and strength of all the DZ Assets

Old wind system before V5.6 (recommended to use MPC for wind strength)

Season Settings (recommended to be adjusted mostly in leaf master material instance)
