Lorica Segmentata – Corbridge B | Refined Roman Armor 3D Model
This 3D model showcases the Corbridge B variant of the Lorica Segmentata, a more advanced and practical evolution of Roman legionary armor, in use approximately from the mid-1st century AD to the early 2nd century.
Following the earlier Corbridge A, this version introduced functional upgrades to reduce vulnerability in battle. The most notable improvement was the replacement of side leather straps with vertical metal hooks and loops, reinforcing the connection between the upper chest section and lower horizontal plates. This change significantly reduced the risk of the armor opening if struck at an angle — a key weakness of earlier models like Kalkriese and Corbridge A.
It still retained leather straps and buckles at the upper chest and back, making it a transitional form between the fully strapped versions and the later, fully mechanical Newstead design.
This model was crafted with historical accuracy and practicality in mind, ideal for:
Game design and digital media
Historical visualization and education
Reenactment reference and 3D printing
Artists and researchers focused on Roman military gear
Model Features:
Optimized polygon count for wide usability
Realistic structure and closures based on archaeological findings
Clean topology and UV mapping
Formats available: [.fbx, .obj, .blend, etc.]
Bring to life the transitional stage of Roman armor engineering with this balanced and authentic 3D model of the Lorica Segmentata Corbridge B.
