Screen Space Niagara Framework is a production-ready solution for creating and using screen space niagara visual effects in your projects. It’s easy to use, performant, flexible, have GPU support and lets you add these effects to your gameplay right away.
Supports sprite, ribbon and mesh renderers.
Particles can be affected by world (Global Illumination, lights and shadows) and postprocessing (e.g. bloom).
Creating screen space effects is just as simple as working with standard Niagara systems, while all underlying technical complexity is fully handled by the Screen Space Niagara Framework.
Solution properly handles changes in FOV, resolution, screen percentage etc.
Key features
GPU Support
Screen Space Niagara Framework supports GPU particle simulations, enabling complex effects with large numbers of particles.
Lightweight
The solution is fast and efficient, supporting a wide range of hardware from lower-end mobile devices to high-end PCs.
Resolution and FOV independent
Create your effect and don’t worry about the rest. Visuals remain consistent in all scenarios.
Easy spawning and managing effects
Use built-in component and blueprint functions to spawn and manage effects easily.
Correct handling of different aspect ratios
Effects behave as you would expect it. They can either scale with screen width or remain independent of it.
Consistent visuals across different settings and hardware configurations
Many built in niagara modules and functions
Plugin adds many ready to use niagara modules and functions to help you create your own Screen Space effects. And more will be added in future updates!
Templates and examples
Screen Space Niagara Framework includes templates and examples that can serve as a starting point for creating your own VFX and as a reference, and learning content.
Please NOTE: This is not an asset pack! It is a solution to create your own Screen Space Niagara effects and implement them. It contains examples and templates but those are not finished, ready to use effects.
