The AW 249 Fenice is the European Unions latest generation attack helicopter. It has replaced the Euro Tiger in most european militarys and is widely compared to the American Apache. The AW-249 is based on the A-129 and the Improved T129. It can carry roughly double the payload as the Tiger and at the same speed. The Fenice is fully digital fly by wire controls, with a digital cockpit and tandem seats. it uses advanced datalinks and AESA radar, and has high surivibility with advanced DIRCM and Missile Warning and Avoidance System.
