설명
Your characters have been faking it.
For years, getting hit in a game has worked one of two ways. You play a canned flinch animation, or the character goes limp like someone cut the strings. Fifty enemies, the same three hit reacts, the same boneless collapse.
That’s over.
Physical Impact Reaction is an active-ragdoll hit reaction system for Unreal Engine 5.4 through 5.8. Your characters don’t just drop. They flinch. Stagger. Fight for balance. Throw a foot out to catch themselves. Reach for the ground as they fall. Carry their wounds. Then they get back up.
Every reaction is physically driven, so no two are the same.
THIS IS WHAT AAA OPEN-WORLD PHYSICS LOOKS LIKE. IN YOUR GAME. TODAY.
The biggest open-world game in history has players arguing about ragdolls frame by frame. That’s the bar now.
We’re not waiting for it. We’re shipping it. One component, no engine modifications, built on Chaos and Physics Control.
TIERED RESPONSE: THE HIT MATCHES THE HURT
Minor hit: a sharp physical flinch layered right over your animation. The character keeps moving and keeps fighting.
Moderate hit: a real stagger. The body reels, the balance system kicks in, and the feet scramble to recover.
Major or lethal hit: a full ragdoll with momentum transfer. A shotgun blast to the shoulder spins them. A car at 60 sends them flying, and it sends them the right way.
THEY ACTUALLY TRY TO STAY STANDING
Most ragdolls give up. Ours fight back.
A capture-point balance system built on the linear inverted pendulum model, the same principle behind real robotics, tracks the character’s center of mass against their support feet every frame. Push them and they know whether they’re going down.
If they can save it, they step. These are procedural catch steps, on the correct foot, along a natural arc, at stance width, onto whatever floor is actually there. That includes stairs, slopes and rubble.
THEY PUT THEIR HANDS OUT
When a character falls, they don’t faceplant like a mannequin. They predict where they’ll land, reach for it, plant their hands and brace. It’s a small human detail that sells every single fall.
WOUNDS THAT STAY WITH THEM
Per-limb injury tracking:
Shoot an arm and it goes dead, hanging and swinging as they walk.
Hit a leg and they limp, and that leg gives out under pressure.
Wounded characters clutch the injury.
The fight leaves marks, and your players will see them.
IMPULSE DONE RIGHT
Forces get structurally distributed across the whole Physics Asset: a direct share at the point of impact, mass-weighted propagation through the body, and angular transfer that makes hits twist. A hit to the hip doesn’t move the hip alone. It moves the person.
THE GET-UP
The character settles. The system works out from the body’s own geometry whether they’re face-up or face-down, snapshots the pose and blends seamlessly into the correct get-up montage. There’s no popping or snapping, just a person climbing back to their feet.
MULTIPLAYER
Server-authoritative impacts, deaths, injuries and outcomes, with the physics replayed on clients. Everyone sees the same takedown.
BUILT FOR SCALE
Idle characters cost zero: no tick, no motors, backend released. A per-world simulation budget, visibility and distance gating, and crowds of hundreds stay fast while the brawl in front of the camera looks incredible.
