Building Information
The King County Courthouse in Seattle, designed by architect A. Warren Gould, was completed in 1916. This five storey building is a typical example of civic building design in early 20th century America. The style is Beaux Arts, which was the conservatively acceptable style for any civic building of the period.
In 1987, the King County Courthouse was registered as a King County landmark. This not only placed importance on the structure as a historical marker, but it also encouraged restoration of the building.
