KD: Traversal Sense Component
Give your character's movement system full spatial awareness. KD: Traversal Sense is a lightweight, pure environment detection engine for Unreal Engine 5.7+.
Given a character and a configuration struct, it runs precise environment queries and returns a complete ScanResult in a single execution call โ outputting raw, highly accurate spatial data including front/back ledges, obstacle dimensions, airborne status, and lateral wall vectors.
This plugin is strictly a Sensing / Detection Layer. It contains no movement logic or animation code. Instead, it outputs clean, ready-to-use spatial data designed to feed directly into Motion Matching, GAS, Custom Movement Systems, or Blueprints.
๐ Key Features & Technical Highlights
Pure Environment Detection: Dedicated exclusively to scanning geometry โ zero animation or movement logic dependencies.
Motion Warping Ready: All detected surface normals are guaranteed horizontal, allowing you to pass target vectors directly into Motion Warping without additional rotation math.
Top Surface Snap: Precise ledge finding where target coordinates snap directly to the actual top surface, not floating on wall faces.
Single-Call Query: Fetches complete spatial data (ledge coordinates, obstacle dimensions, wall vectors, and airborne state) in one unified result.
Universal Output Data: Easily plug the resulting data into UE5.7 Motion Matching, custom ability frameworks, or gameplay logic.
