Opis

Sakura, ivy and wild vines that grow on your own meshes. Pick an object, choose a look, and Rewild covers it: blossom curtains spill over its ledges, creepers climb from its foot, lianas hang between its posts. The plants follow the real geometry. Stems wrap over edges, old trunks climb up from the ground, and petals fall and land where they should.

Grow a whole level at once with the Overgrow volume, or place plants one by one. DOCUMENTATION / SUPPORT / YOUTUBE

Plant types:

  • Blossom curtains grow along an edge and let their strands fall over it, with a trunk climbing up from the ground.

  • Wall creepers crawl over walls and floors, branching and winding like Virginia creeper.

  • Lianas hang between two points or objects, drop leafy strands, and crawl on over the walls where their ends land.

Looks:

  • Four ready looks: Sakura, Ivy, Autumn Momiji and Winter, built from 13 presets.

  • Photo leaves (ivy, beech, maple) or leaves drawn in the shader, with autumn and winter versions.

  • Sakura blossoms in hanging bunches, plus white, deep pink, purple and yellow flowers.

  • Save any plant as a preset. Every plant linked to it updates when you change it.

Alive:

  • Wind with gusts and leaf flutter, set once for the whole level.

  • Petals and leaves fall, drift with the wind, land and fade. It runs in the material and costs almost nothing.

  • Growth, autumn color and leaf fall are sliders you can animate in Sequencer or Blueprint. Autumn and leaf fall also work for the whole level at once.

  • Lianas can hang from moving objects, sockets or bones. In game they swing like ropes, snap when pulled too far, and can be cut or released from Blueprint.

Performance:

  • Plants are rebuilt from their settings and not stored in the level, so levels stay small.

  • Four detail levels from Low to Cinematic, with three LODs. Large plants are split into pieces that pick their LOD separately.

  • Bake plants into Nanite static meshes. Nearby plants with the same look merge into one mesh.

  • Wind shadows and ray tracing are opt in per plant.

Included:

  • Demo level: a torii gate, tower, stairs, colonnade and castle walls overgrown with the Sakura, Ivy and Autumn looks.

  • Rewild editor mode with click tools for curtains, creepers and lianas.

  • Full C++ source.

Technical details:

  • Unreal Engine 5.8, Windows

  • Code plugin with 3 modules (2 runtime, 1 editor)

  • 23 C++ classes, no Blueprints

  • 3 master materials, 26 material instances

  • 8 textures: leaf atlases (ivy, beech, maple) and bark, color and normal, from ambientCG (CC0)

  • 13 plant presets, 4 looks, 1 demo level
