Opis

Realtime Mesh Component is a high-performance, fully dynamic mesh component for

Unreal Engine, built for geometry that can't be packaged as static content: meshes

created at runtime, loaded from user files, procedurally generated, or continuously

modified. It scales from a single hand-authored triangle to full procedural worlds.

RMC is faster and more memory-efficient than ProceduralMeshComponent, and ships

migration helpers so existing PMC code ports with minimal changes.

Features:

  • Full collision support (static triangle mesh and dynamic objects), with async collision cooking off the game thread

  • Full NavMesh support

  • Variable mesh formats, letting you trade features against memory and performance per-stream

  • Up to 8 UV channels, high-precision UVs and normals

  • LOD support up to the engine max of 8 levels, with full dithering

  • StaticMesh conversion in game and editor

  • ProceduralMeshComponent migration helpers to port existing PMC code with minimal changes

  • Blueprint mesh builder, Blueprint-callable shape tools, and a full set of Blueprint example assets

  • Mesh serialization

Free and open source (source on GitHub). Supports Unreal Engine 5.5-5.8 on all platforms.

Want more? Realtime Mesh Component Pro adds:

  • Runtime Nanite: build real Nanite meshes from procedural data, with cluster groups, a full LOD DAG, and per-page streaming. No cooked bake, no custom engine.

  • Lumen GI for dynamic meshes: runtime signed distance field and Lumen card generation, GPU-accelerated, so procedural geometry lights correctly.

  • Hardware ray tracing support for runtime-generated geometry.

  • UDynamicMesh rendering through RMC's render path, with bidirectional conversion.

  • Spatial streaming for loading and unloading mesh cells around the player.

  • Compute-shader providers for geometry that lives entirely on the GPU.

  • Runtime OBJ loading and meshoptimizer-backed mesh optimization tooling.

Same API, so a project moves from Core to Pro without changing existing code.
