Magic Settings V1.0.11 One-Click Cinematic Project Setup
Choose the machine. Choose the stage. Apply with confidence.
Magic Settings is an Unreal Editor plugin for repeatable cinematic project setup. It brings rendering settings, machine-aware memory budgets, workflow presets, project features, Post Process Volume packages, asset preparation, Personal CVar Packages, and guided preflight checks into one focused panel.
THREE WORKFLOW STAGES
EDITOR READY provides a responsive working baseline for layout, modeling, lighting, and look development.
CINEMATIC BUILD raises quality for completed scenes during finishing and review.
FINAL RENDER applies the highest curated settings for locked shots and final output.
SAFE SESSION AND PROJECT CONTROL
Runtime render-quality CVars are applied to the active editor session. Genuine renderer choices such as Nanite, Virtual Shadow Maps, Lumen methods, and hardware ray tracing are stored through Unreal Project Settings. Version 1.0.11 also removes obsolete Magic Settings runtime entries left in a project's startup ConsoleVariables section by older releases.
MACHINE-AWARE BUDGETS
Automatic GPU memory detection selects practical budgets for texture streaming, ray tracing geometry, Nanite visible clusters, and Virtual Shadow Maps. Manual profiles remain available for measured workflows.
PERSONAL CVAR PACKAGES
Create a native Console Variables Asset, edit it in Unreal's Console Variables Editor, add your own CVars, and migrate it between projects. Checked personal values apply last, so deliberate user settings remain the final override.
RENDERING, VOLUMES, AND ASSETS
Use curated controls for Nanite, MegaLights, Lumen, shadows, texture streaming, ambient occlusion, denoising, Volumetric Fog, Heterogeneous Volumes, optional DLSS, Shot Volumes, and selected Static Mesh preparation. The ray-tracing Normal Bias control follows the active MegaLights state instead of applying conflicting paths.
MOVIE RENDER QUEUE AWARE
Magic Settings avoids injecting MRQ-owned DLSS, screen-percentage, and temporal-upscaler commands into Personal CVar packages. Optional-plugin CVars are filtered when their owning plugin is unavailable or disabled.
GUIDED PREFLIGHT
Checks identify DirectX 12, Shader Model 6, rendering settings, memory budgets, optional plugins, and restart-required changes. Supported conditions can be fixed directly, while the status area explains what changed and what still needs attention.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
Unreal Engine 5.7 and 5.8.
Windows 64-bit editor plugin.
Editor-only; nothing is added to packaged game builds.
Uses Unreal Engine's built-in Console Variables Editor dependency.
Source-code Fab package; Unreal may compile the plugin on first use.
Magic Settings provides curated production baselines, not universal maximum values. Validate final settings against the project, target hardware, and rendering pipeline.
