描述
This tree pack contains 37 unique game-ready & scientifically accurate plant and tree meshes made for use in Unreal 5 with Nanite and Lumen. The meshes consist of non-flowering trees, from sapling to adult, and fallen leaves made from the following plant species:
Crape Myrtle (Lagerstroemia indica)
Each asset was created using real-world photographs and either hand-modeled based on real-world reference or made with photogrammetry (tree trunks), with extra care used to keep them scientifically accurate. The only specific deviations from scientific accuracy are that the assets represent the trees only out of season, without their flowers and seed pods.
All of the meshes were made from the ground up to be used with Nanite: no texture transparency is used, meaning the plants are fully modeled and offer both high-fidelity and higher-performance when using Nanite. Photogrammetry was used to create high-detail scans of the tree trunks, while the branch and leaf meshes were hand modeled, allowing the textures to be intentionally laid-out and optimized at 2k resolution. All of the materials are instanced from one or two masters (one for plants, one for solids like trunks and bark), further increasing performance without sacrificing visual quality. The materials include multiple layers of wind from swaying to rustling, using distance-based WPO to add believable movement to the plants without sacrificing performance.
It's important to note that given the complexity of the trees and the fully-modeled nature of Nanite-specific meshes, the larger trees have high polycounts. The example scene in the screenshots shows off a grove of Crape Myrtles, with saplings littering the ground over fallen leaf meshes and an example ground material. Lighting in the scene was set up for use with hardware raytracing, but can be adjusted to be used without raytracing.
