UPDATE 5.8 + DEMO

Cinematic Fire Basic Pack is a flexible fire toolkit for Unreal Engine 5. It combines high-resolution flipbook textures, customizable fire materials, ready-to-use presets, and production-friendly Blueprints for creating anything from a single candle flame or handheld torch to vehicle fires, burning ground, wildfire areas, and large cinematic fire scenes.

The main `BP_Cinematic_Fire_Portable` actor provides direct control over fire appearance, animation, color, temperature, emissive intensity, surface lighting, wind deformation, motion response, motion vectors, camera-facing behavior, and attachment alignment. Choose from 35 coordinated fire variants and five texture quality profiles ranging from 512 px to the original cinematic-resolution textures.

Four color-source modes let you preserve the original flipbook color or grade the effect with an HDR color curve, curve atlas, or 2D color-ramp texture. Fourteen included presets provide practical starting points for candles, torches, campfires, vehicle fires, building fires, wildfire, ground fire, hero close-ups, slow-motion shots, gameplay backgrounds, and multiple smoke styles.

The included `BP_Cinematic_Fire_Scatter` Blueprint can generate multiple fires along a spline, inside a closed spline, from vertex colors, from a Mesh Paint Texture used with Nanite, or from a world-space texture mask. Placement can be projected onto scene collision and controlled with slope limits, surface alignment, spacing, jitter, minimum separation, random seeds, weighted variant libraries, and randomized animation phases.

Scatter layouts can be previewed live and baked into portable transforms for stable gameplay and cinematic rendering. Appearance can be updated without rebuilding placement, while optional event-driven regeneration can be called from gameplay Blueprints or Sequencer.

The package includes example levels for the main workflows, reusable fire-variant libraries, color ramps, curve atlases, fire-card meshes, materials, textures, Niagara secondary effects, and example sequences. No third-party plugin installation is required.

Key features:

- 35 coordinated fire texture variants.

- Five texture quality profiles: 512 px, 1K, 2K, 4K, and original cinematic resolution.

- 14 ready-to-use presets: Manual/Custom, Candle, Torch, Campfire, Vehicle Fire, Building Fire, Wildfire, Ground Fire, Hero Close Up, Cinematic Slow Motion, Game Background, White Smoke, Black Smoke, and Colored Smoke.

- Ready-to-use `BP_Cinematic_Fire_Portable` actor for individual fires.

- Flexible `BP_Cinematic_Fire_Scatter` system for large fire layouts.

- Placement along splines or inside closed spline areas.

- Vertex Color placement using painted mesh data.

- Mesh Paint Texture workflow for Nanite and texture-painted meshes.

- World-space Texture Mask placement with selectable Red, Green, Blue, Alpha, or Luminance channels.

- Optional collision projection with trace height, trace depth, slope filtering, complex collision, surface offset, and normal alignment.

- Deterministic random placement using a stable seed.

- Adjustable spacing, spacing jitter, lateral jitter, minimum separation, scale variation, and animation-phase randomization.

- Weighted fire-variant libraries for reducing repetition across large layouts.

- Portable baked layouts for stable gameplay, Sequencer, and cinematic rendering.

- Appearance-only updates that preserve transforms, variants, and animation phases.

- Original flipbook color, HDR curve, curve atlas, and 2D color-ramp modes.

- Advanced ramp controls for chroma replacement, luminance, saturation, rotation, noise, core influence, and height influence.

- Emissive, scattering, flame-core, base-glow, tip-glow, and outer-flame controls.

- Temperature-based coloring with editable base, middle, and tip gradients.

- Normal-map detail and optional native translucent surface-light response.

- Optional six-direction lighting textures for enhanced close-up volume.

- Wind direction, intensity, gust, turbulence, base stiffness, bend curve, maximum angle, fine detail, and edge-feather controls.

- Motion-responsive bending for handheld torches, weapons, vehicles, and moving props.

- Motion-vector support for temporal rendering and cinematic motion blur.

- World-upright flame behavior, automatic flame-anchor calibration, and directional attachment offsets.

- Camera-facing and two-sided card options.

- Fire Start, Fire Stop, material reapply, setup validation, and custom preset save/import functions.

- Event-driven runtime and Sequencer regeneration; no per-frame regeneration is required.

- Niagara sparks, dust, smoke, and burning-ground supporting effects.

- Example levels covering Blueprint setup, smoke, splines, texture masks, torches, vehicles, vertex paint, and wind.

- Four reusable default fire-variant Data Asset libraries.

- No third-party runtime plugin dependency.

Important usage note

`Geometry Scripting` is used for editor-side placement baking from vertex colors, Mesh Paint Textures, and texture masks. `Niagara` is used by the included secondary effects. Both plugins ship with Unreal Engine and are already enabled in the supplied project; users do not need to download a separate plugin.

For the most stable gameplay and cinematic workflow, create the layout in the editor and use `Use Baked Placements`. Runtime regeneration is optional and event-driven.

Cinematic Fire Blueprint is a collection of 36 different high-resolution fire flipbooks accessible through a single blueprint - with drag and drop, ease of use. Simply enter a number from 0-35 or use the slider. With Cinematic Fire, you can change its color, emissive power, speed, or transform it into smoke. The blueprint also includes the option to enable sparks, decals, and burned wood meshes. The flipbook responds to changes in lighting within the scene. All of these features can be integrated into the sequencer and animated as desired. Textures have been prepped in 16K seamless loops with motion vector, six point light, depth, and reflection.
