Find broken DataTable references before they become gameplay bugs.
RowTether helps you review DataTable relationships, check the rules of your game, and preview CSV row-removal impact directly inside Unreal Editor. Every finding identifies the source table, row and field, so you know where to investigate.
Important: RowTether diagnoses problems; it does not repair or rewrite your DataTables. CSV comparison previews impact without importing the file.
What you can do
Find missing and invalid references
Identify missing destination tables, missing rows and required references left empty.
Detect Data Table Row Handles automatically.
Declare destination tables for Name and String fields used as reference keys.
Filter and group findings, then open the source table to investigate.
Check the rules of your game
Create field requirements with a visual rule editor.
Apply checks to every row or only rows matching your conditions.
Preview rule outcomes and save reusable configuration profiles.
Preview CSV removal impact
Choose a candidate CSV and its destination table.
Find selected consumers whose references would point to rows missing from that candidate.
Review impact before deciding whether to import through your normal Unreal workflow.

Share reports that preserve context
HTML for readable reviews and team discussion.
CSV for spreadsheet workflows.
JSON for structured processing.
Coverage and incomplete results are identified explicitly.
Choose your scope and reuse your setup
Use or add the Content Browser selection, drag DataTables into the panel, or add all project DataTables.
Filter your table selection and reuse saved reference and rule profiles.
Keep your applied configuration between editor sessions.
Optional AI integration
RowTether includes an optional AI integration. Its built-in tools can work with Unreal’s Toolset Registry and Unreal MCP to let a connected assistant inspect DataTables, explain findings, and investigate affected relationships.
Example request: “Review the selected DataTables, explain the broken references, and tell me which rows are affected. Do not modify the tables.”
Assistants can propose reference settings and game rules. You inspect the proposed changes, preview them and explicitly apply them in Unreal.
AI requirements: Enable Unreal’s Toolset Registry and Unreal MCP plugins, then configure a compatible client. No separate RowTetherTools download or system Python installation is required. AI accounts, subscriptions, and usage costs are not included. The core plugin works without AI.
Compatibility & setup
Unreal Engine: 5.8.
Platform: Windows Editor.
Delivery: Editor-only C++ plugin, source code included.
Interface: English.
Core reviews: no online service, AI account or API key required.
Enable RowTether under Edit → Plugins, restart the editor if prompted, and open it from Tools → RowTether. When multiple Tether-family tools are enabled, look under Tools → Tether.

Scope & limitations
Results cover your selected tables and supported relationships, not arbitrary Blueprint graphs or C++ references.
Supported relationships include top-level row handles, arrays and sets of row handles, and explicitly mapped Name/String keys. Unsupported nested reference relationships are reported as omitted.
CSV comparison checks row keys and schema headers. It does not validate every cell or execute custom import hooks.
The default review budget is 10,000 source rows and 10,000 relationships. Inspect coverage when reviewing larger datasets.
No automatic repairs, row renaming, CSV importing or runtime gameplay functionality.
