ABOUT THE KIT:

Medieval Rope Making Kit is a collection of 56 Nanite-enabled props for Unreal Engine 5 that turns a plain medieval village, harbor town or fantasy port into a place where people actually work. Rope was everywhere in the pre-industrial world, so these pieces give you a believable rope maker’s workshop, ropewalk or cordage factory for fantasy RPGs, survival and crafting games, pirate and sailing adventures, historical games and cinematics.

Every machine and tool is based on documented medieval rope-making practice, so even a fantasy world feels grounded and lived-in, with working wheels, real tools and a clear production process instead of generic “rope on a hook” props.

Tired of medieval maps filled with the same recycled props?
This kit gives your world a workshop that feels real: a complete rope-making process with working machinery, raw materials, and finished cordage, all based on historical practice. Whether your game is fantasy, medieval, or set in a similar period, these props make your environments feel lived-in, logical, and full of story. Combine it with the other kits on my profile (blacksmith, foundry, carpenter, ships) to build a world where every workshop has a purpose.

Perfect for:

  • Fantasy and medieval RPGs: a crafting profession station, a tradesman’s quarter, a rope maker’s guild

  • Port towns, shipyards and pirate settings: pairs naturally with ship, dock and harbor scenes

  • Survival and crafting games: from raw fibre to finished rope in an interactive workflow

  • Historical and educational projects: documentaries, museum and heritage visualization

  • Cinematics and environment art: story-rich dressing for workshops and warehouses

The kit follows the whole process, so you can build a complete rope factory or a single rope maker’s workshop:

Rope-making machinery: wheel-driven rope jack machines (5 variants), a rope coiler assembly in 8 pieces (including empty, unwound, fully wound and finished states), 3 reel frames, 3 rope supports, big and small ropemaker’s tops, swivel hook, wooden and metal poles, and a rope with attached hemp pineapple.

Fibre preparation: 3 flax and hemp brake variants (including a disassembled one), 3 scutching boards with scutching knife, a heckling comb (hackle) table with comb cover, and 4 trestle table variants.

Raw materials and finished cordage: 6 hemp bundles, 2 hemp pineapples, 3 ground hemp debris pieces, plus big and small rope coils.

Workshop details: a bucket with water and a cloth, and 3 weight rocks.

Every machine and tool is based on documented medieval rope-making practice, so your scene shows how the craft was actually done, not how it is usually imagined in fiction.

IMPORTANT: The characters, buildings, and environments shown in the cover and in some gallery images are for demonstration purposes only and are not included in this package.

Historical accuracy is a core part of this kit’s design, and feedback from historians, researchers and enthusiasts is genuinely welcome.
