Logic Driver Pro V2 enables you to create your own node-based gameplay systems through a new blueprint editor. This could range from simple AI behavior to an entire narrative system.
Developers can create node classes either in blueprints or C++, encapsulate reusable logic, and expose variables on the node. Each node can include:
Editor construction scripts to dynamically modify the node and its properties based on designer input.
Node validation to provide visual feedback or prevent a system from compiling.
Rule behavior to help enforce patterns and automate parts of the design process.
Designers can then use these nodes within Logic Driver’s state machine blueprints. Each state node displays its properties, accessible through individual blueprint graphs. Designers can set values directly for most properties or connect variables to properties for dynamic behaviors.
Additional features include:
The State Stack to combine multiple states in a sequence to execute tasks in order.
The Transition Stack to quickly generate transition expressions between states.
Designers can preview their work in the blueprint editor or debug it during PIE.
With narrative and quest systems being popular use cases, Logic Driver Pro introduces Text Graph properties—enabling designers to drag-and-drop variables directly onto text, with rich text and localization support. A search tool also allows easy find-and-replace for property values.
To help you get started quickly, Logic Driver Pro includes content samples with example setups and basic templates. These can be easily installed to your project.
At its core Logic Driver is a Finite State Machine which executes based on transition conditions and state logic. If you only need a basic state machine, try out the Lite version. It’s free and can give you an idea of what Pro is built on.
