📍 Location: Narrow-Gauge Railway Depot, Panevėžys, Lithuania

📸 Capture Method: High-detail photogrammetry model created from 767 photographs.

🧩 Description:
This highly detailed 3D model documents the preserved TU2-089 narrow-gauge diesel locomotive exhibited at the historic Aukštaitija Narrow-Gauge Railway Depot in Panevėžys, Lithuania. The model includes the original maintenance inspection pit, access walkways, and the small electric maintenance vehicle, preserving the entire site exactly as it exists today.

Built for 750 mm narrow-gauge railways, the TU2 series became one of the most recognizable diesel locomotives operating throughout the Baltic region and the former Soviet Union. Although once a working locomotive, TU2-089 has long since been retired and today remains as an outdoor heritage exhibit.

Decades of exposure have left the locomotive with authentic corrosion, peeling paint, faded railway markings, graffiti, weathered steel, and numerous traces of its operational past. Rather than hiding these imperfections, they form an important part of the locomotive's documented history.

Created from 767 photographs, this model faithfully captures every visible detail without digital restoration or artistic reconstruction. It serves as an authentic digital preservation record of a rare piece of Lithuanian railway heritage in its current condition.

🎯 Applications:
Railway heritage, museum documentation, industrial archaeology, restoration reference, historical research, simulation, game development, education, virtual exhibitions, engineering visualization, and digital preservation.
