The Gigantoraptor was a colossal, bird-like dinosaur that grew to an estimated 8 to 8.6 meters (26 to 28 feet) in length, stood roughly 3.5 meters (11.5 feet) tall at the hips, and weighed between 1.4 and 2 metric tons (3,000 to 4,400 pounds). If measuring all the way up to its head in an upright posture, it could reach total heights of 4 to 5 meters (13 to 16 feet) tall. Gigantoraptor was a giant, feathered oviraptorosaurian dinosaur that lived in Asia during the Late Cretaceous period, about 71 to 85 million years ago. Growing up to 8 meters (26 feet) long and weighing about 2 metric tons, it was the largest known oviraptorosaur, featuring a toothless beak, long slender legs, and a bird-like appearance.
