Descripción

It was a bipedal predator. It is best known for the long spinous processes of its vertebrae that most likely served to attach a long chain of muscles to the animal's neck, back, and hips. It is one of the largest known theropod dinosaurs, measuring between 11 and 11.5 m in length and weighing approximately 4.4 to 6.6 tons. Large theropod footprints have been found in Texas that may have been made by an Acrocanthosaurus, but there is no direct link between these and the skeletal remains.
