Building Information

The Legislative Assembly of Pernambuco is housed in the historic Palácio Joaquim Nabuco, located in Recife's Boa Vista neighbourhood. Designed by architect José Tiburcio Pereira Magalhães, the building was inaugurated on March 1, 1875, though construction was only completed on January 20, 1876.

The historic palace operated as the legislature's home for over 140 years until 2017, representing a significant example of 19th-century Brazilian institutional architecture that continues to serve Pernambuco's state government.
