This high-precision 3D asset restores pottery cylindrical roof tiles for eaves of traditional Chinese ancient architecture, fully recreating the classic structure and century-old weathered texture of roof eaves in southern folk dwellings. The model accurately displays the overlapping assembly of eaves tiles, and finely reproduces the layered arrangement of cylindrical and flat tiles as well as mortar traces between them. It faithfully presents the natural texture of tile surfaces, mottled moss, water erosion marks and aged patina from long-term outdoor exposure, retaining the authentic vintage features of ancient pottery tiles. As a core part of the roofing system of traditional Chinese architecture, eaves tiles are widely installed on the roof edges of residences, ancestral halls and gardens. Laid along the roof slope, they serve as a key component of the roof waterproofing and drainage system. The overlapping structure of cylindrical and flat tiles seals tile gaps and guides rainwater downwards to prevent leakage and damage to wooden frameworks. Meanwhile, it forms the distinctive texture and rhythmic beauty of traditional Chinese roof eaves. This craftwork perfectly embodies the integration of classic pottery-making techniques, ancient architectural waterproofing designs and oriental architectural aesthetics.
