Layered Tri-Planar Brick & Concrete Material System is a production-ready Unreal Engine 5 material system designed for environment artists who need fast, flexible, and high-quality surface blending directly inside the level.

This pack includes production-ready Brick and Concrete materials with a full PBR setup, including Base Color, Roughness, Normal, Height, and optional displacement support.

This is not just a texture pack.
It is a reusable layered material system built around practical environment art workflows.

The system supports Tri-Planar projection, UV-based mapping, and a hybrid workflow that combines both. You can use UVs for clean base materials, Tri-Planar projection for seamless mapping, or combine them to add dirt, wear, and surface detail on top of existing materials.

With Height Blend, Noise Mask blending, Vertex Paint, and Stripe Paint controls, you can create natural surface transitions, reduce visible repetition, and add localized detail directly in the level.

Flexible Mapping Workflow

This material system can be used in multiple ways depending on your asset and production needs.

  • Use UV mapping for clean and controlled base materials.

  • Use Tri-Planar projection for seamless mapping on large or complex surfaces.

  • Combine UV and Tri-Planar workflows to add dirt, wear, concrete, plaster, or other surface detail layers on top.

This makes the system suitable for both clean authored assets and large-scale environment surfaces where fast iteration is important.

Height-Based Blending

The height blend system uses material height information to control how surfaces blend together.

For example, when blending plaster or concrete over brick, the height map can help preserve brick faces, fill mortar gaps, and create more natural worn transitions between materials.

This allows artists to create more believable surface variation without manually painting every small detail.

Ready for Production

The system is designed to be dropped into your project and used immediately, while still allowing artists to extend, replace, and customize each layer for their own production needs.

Use the included Brick and Concrete materials as-is, or replace the surface layers with your own materials while keeping the same flexible layered workflow.
