  • Why is the Edgegap matchmaker using clusters?

    • Matchmaking requires compute resources on a server to receive the matchmaking tickets and then send a game server deployment requests.

    • This allows for dynamic matchmaking, unlike P2P-based matchmaking solution that are only creating a list of player-hosted lobbies through platforms like EOS or Steam, and aren’t automatically matching players in group/teams.

    • Matchmaking without clusters eliminates decision-making logic, which preventing the use of rules like ELO, skill-based (SBMM), and other popular matchmaking decision-making used in commercial games.

  • Can I use Edgegap’s matchmaker for peer-to-peer (P2P) networking
