This is a special concept that deal with dried ground. Imagine the end of world and there is no water, no rain around, or an arid region such as Africa and some areas in North America. The concept was created with real world references and then we checked areas such as this they don't really have rain or water, but have some signs that you know there was water before. The plant cover is the desert-like paintbrush you'd expected.
