This project is a sci-fi engine room diorama I created for Module 2 at Escape Studios. I chose this theme to push myself outside my comfort zone and explore a more technical, industrial sci fi environment. The main focus of the piece was building a believable engine room with strong mood, lighting, and material definition, while keeping it readable as a small, self contained diorama. I spent a lot of time iterating on shapes, surface detail, and emissive elements to give the scene a functional, lived in feel.
The asset creation and assembly pipeline included Maya for modeling, ZBrush for secondary details, SpeedTree where applicable, Substance Painter for texturing, and Unreal Engine for lighting, rendering, and final presentation. This project was both challenging and rewarding, and it helped me better understand environment storytelling, material breakup, and scene composition within a real time engine.
