This HDRI captures a peaceful night on a mountain meadow in the Owl Mountains, southwestern Poland, overlooking an open rural landscape of rolling hills and distant mountain silhouettes. The clear, dark sky is filled with visible stars and the Milky Way. The capture was made during a new moon, with no visible moon in the sky and no moonlight illuminating the landscape, creating a naturally dark night environment.

Two Color Variants

Two versions of the HDRI are included:

• Daylight WB — 5400 K — the original neutral daylight white balance used during capture.

• Cold — a cooler color-corrected version for a colder, more atmospheric night appearance.

Both versions are supplied in 16K resolution for high-quality lighting, reflections, and environment backgrounds.

Professional Capture

The panorama was captured using a Sony A7R IV paired with a Samyang 12 mm f/2.8 ED AS NCS Fish-eye lens. This full-frame setup allowed the entire environment to be captured with excellent optical quality and high-resolution detail.

The HDRI was photographed at ISO 6400 without AI denoising, preserving the original stars, Milky Way detail, subtle cloud structures, natural sensor characteristics, and the full dynamic range of the scene.

No AI. No Denoising. Just Real Data.

No AI processing or denoising was used in the creation of this HDRI. The original photographic data is preserved, allowing you to apply your preferred denoising or post-processing techniques yourself if needed.

Color Checker HDRIs

Matching HDRI color checker files are also included. These were captured using the same photographic setup and workflow as the main HDRI.

They can be used as a reference for color matching, color correction, and custom grading, allowing you to fine-tune the HDRI colors while maintaining a consistent reference to the original scene.

Unreal Engine

To use this HDRI in Unreal Engine, simply enable the free HDRI Backdrop plugin created by Epic. It comes pre-installed with UE5 — go to Edit → Plugins, search for HDRI Backdrop, and enable the plugin.
