The pack is a versatile tool designed to empower your creation of entire structures, strongholds, temples, dungeons, and otherworldly landscapes. The material library consists of 43 abstract and fractal-based materials that complement the style of the models. Moreover, the master material fully supports the use of your own texture sets as well.
EXAMPLE LEVELSThere are 7 example scenes included within the pack, to give you a better idea what kind of results you can achieve. Note that it's only a tip of an iceberg of many possibilities.
BLUEPRINTSEnhancing your design, the pack features 4 blueprints—3D Array, Circular Array, Spline Deform, and Mesh Multi Deform for 5.1+. These blueprints expedite the generation of more complex structures or the creation of entirely new shapes out of existing ones.
MATERIALSThe master material accommodates both traditional UV tiling and triplanar mapping. This versatility ensures compatibility with your own models, even in the absence of UV unwrapping. Additionally, the material instances are highly adjustable, granting significant control over the final aesthetic.
Each fractal includes its own Normal map, baked from a high-poly model, an optional Ambient Occlusion map, and an RGA mask. The mask enables the blending of two materials based on curvature, as well as providing adjustable dirt pass. In addition to that, the master material provides an automatic, angle based dust mask which could be used for moss/snow/sand/rust/lava layer on top. All these features can be toggled on or off within the material instances.
The pack features 11 more traditional materials like rock, lava, ice, marble, snow, moss, sand, rust, gold, and 3 abstract minerals. There are 10 main fractal patterns with 2-3 variations for each set, giving 32 fractal materials in total.
PROCEDURAL FOLIAGE
The ‘Example_level_Fantasy’ illustrates how you can take advantage of the Procedural Foliage system, so you can easily and quickly generate entire fractal forests.
Update 01 - A new "Mesh Multi Deform" blueprint has been added to the pack for UE 5.1+ [ video notes ]
The models were initially generated in a free fractal software and subsequently refined, polished, and adapted for use within the Unreal Engine.
Important: if you see that some meshes are missing the materials - in the Example_level_Fantasy - please turn on virtual texture support in Project Settings.
