TransitionFX is a data-driven screen transition plugin built for indie developers and small teams. It renders every effect procedurally using Signed Distance Field (SDF) math, so transitions scale perfectly to any resolution with zero texture overhead. Set up a complete fade-out → load → fade-in sequence with a single latent Blueprint node and a reusable Data Asset preset.

  • Single-Node Blueprint API — PlayTransitionAndWait handles the full lifecycle as a latent action. No timers, no callbacks, no manual state management.

  • Transition Presets (Data Assets) — Consolidate effect type, duration, easing, color, sound, and input-blocking into one swappable asset. Designers iterate without programmer involvement.

  • 12 Easing Curves — Linear, Sine, Cubic, Exponential, Elastic, Bounce — plus a Custom curve option using any FloatCurve asset.

  • Seamless Level Loading — OpenLevelWithTransition fades out, loads the level, then fades back in automatically.

  • Forward & Reverse Playback — Every transition plays in both directions from a single preset. Combine with Invert for four visual variations per effect.

  • Runtime Parameter Overrides — Change color, duration, or any material parameter at call time without duplicating presets.

  • Sound Synchronization — Attach an optional SFX to any preset with per-preset volume and pitch control.

  • Automatic Input Blocking — Prevents accidental player input during transitions (toggleable per preset).

  • Object Pooling & Shader Preloading — Eliminates micro-stutters and first-frame hitching. Async preset loading keeps startup smooth.

  • Pause-Aware Ticking — Transitions respect the game's paused state out of the box.
