This pack contains 85 unique game-ready & scientifically accurate tropical plant meshes made for use in Unreal 5 with Nanite and Lumen, ready to be used in large-scale environments. The assets consist of 4 species of tropical plants, with size variations from small to large:
Areca Palm / Golden Cane palm (Chrysalidocarpus lutescens)
Golden Pothos (Epipremnum aureum)
Red Ti Plant (Cordyline fruticosa)
Whale Fin (Sansevieria masoniana)
Each species consists of multiple variations in size from young to old for use in creating tropical landscapes, with the Areca Palm specifically only growing to the size of a large bush rather than a tree. The textures were created using real-world photographs of the plants and hand-modeled based on real-world reference, with extra care used to keep them scientifically accurate.
All of the meshes were made from the ground up to be used with Nanite: no texture transparency is used, meaning the plants are fully modeled and offer both high-fidelity and high-performance when using Nanite. No photogrammetry was used in their creation, allowing the textures to be intentionally laid-out and optimized. All of the plant materials are instanced from a single master, further increasing performance without sacrificing visual quality. The materials include a configurable simple wind, using distance-based WPO to add believable movement to the plants without sacrificing performance.
The pack comes with meshes already configured as foliage types for use with landscapes, as well as an example scene showing off the performance of the assets when thousands are used in a single scene (over 200,000 foliage instances).
