The model is a Venetian Gothic cloverleaf balustrade broken down to its individual elements. Instead of using vertical posts to hold up a stone handrail - you can use this creative sculpted pattern. Functionally the same as a traditional baluster, this model gives you a more interesting solid support structure.

The array modifier is already applied for you and as a user you're only required to specify the number of segments you want. Furthermore, if your railing is angled up or turning sideways, a lattice modifier is provided that you can edit to match the curvature of your stairs.

You can also decide on the level of detail you want. For close-ups you may want to subdivide the mesh, for longer shots you can use the default geometry. You can also export the stairs as two different meshes (subdivided and not) for LOD support.
