File multimediali per l'articolo My Oranges: 1

Descrizione

Tasting the sun

You'll get high-res scans of 100% Sicilian oranges: bred, harvested, scanned and shot here under the warm sun of southern Italy. In addition, the scene includes orange peel pieces, orange leaves (modeled with scanned textures) and slices of plain toasted bread and buttered bread with orange jam on top. All of these assets use Substrate materials, so they are also a great opportunity to see how to achieve realistic looks on complex objects such as fruits, bread or jam, using this type of shaders.

Last but not least, I'm providing the file with a small glass jar actually modeled after the Korken model from IKEA.

All of these assets are mainly intended for cinematic projects due to their high poly count. Also, the material made for the butter and jam on bread has been obtained by manually painting vertex colors over the mesh. There is a switch to use a simple mask inside the material.

In order for these materials to work correctly, make sure to activate:

  • Substrate Materials

  • Substrate opaque material rough refraction

  • Substrate translucent material rough refraction

  • adaptive G-Buffer from project settings

  • Ray-traced shadows

  • Virtual textures

  • (only to get shadows from the glass jars in the scene) activate Ray-traced shadow on translucent shaders by cvar  r.RayTracing.Shadows.Translucency 1
