Jutsu Unreal MCP

Jutsu Unreal MCP connects AI coding agents directly to Unreal Engine through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), providing structured local access to Unreal Editor authoring, inspection, and testing workflows.

Instead of exposing hundreds of MCP tools and schemas at once, Jutsu uses only 5 stable MCP tools backed by a searchable registry of 530 Unreal capabilities. Agents discover relevant operations through natural-language search, inspect exact contracts only when needed, execute changes, batch operations, and verify results.

The capability registry combines 527 dedicated Unreal capabilities with 3 generic reflection capabilities, extending access to reflected Unreal types, properties, metadata, and supported function calls while keeping specialized capabilities as the preferred path for complex operations.

Tested with Codex, Claude, and OpenCode.

Features

  • 530 capabilities - 527 dedicated Unreal capabilities plus 3 generic reflection capabilities

  • Only 5 MCP tools exposed to the agent, keeping the MCP interface compact as functionality grows

  • Natural-language capability search with on-demand schema and contract discovery

  • Hybrid dedicated + reflection architecture for broad Unreal API coverage without replacing specialized workflows

  • Reflection-based discovery of native Unreal types and Blueprint-generated types

  • Structured inspection of classes, objects, properties, functions, structs, enums, metadata, parameters, and supported value shapes

  • Controlled reflected function invocation with Editor and PIE safety policies

  • Blueprint and graph authoring

  • Broad support across Materials, Animation, Control Rig, IK Rig, Niagara, PCG, UMG, Sequencer, MetaSound, GAS, StateTree, Enhanced Input, Smart Objects, Gameplay Interactions, AI, Navigation, Physics, Localization, Audio, World, Assets, and other Unreal systems

  • Native Unreal validation for types, graphs, pins, assets, ownership, compatibility, and editor state

  • Asset creation, editing, compilation, saving, reloading, and persistence verification

  • Ordered batch execution of up to 100 operations, including references to results from previous steps

  • Structured errors with expected/actual values, retryability, recovery information, related capabilities, and mutation state

  • Explicit safeguards for destructive and potentially unsafe operations

  • Stable asset, actor, world, graph, node, and pin identities instead of relying on editor selection

  • PIE lifecycle, diagnostics, and placed Functional Test support

  • Fully local MCP server running inside Unreal Editor

  • No API key, cloud service, Python environment, or paid external dependency required

Important Notes

Jutsu Unreal MCP is an editor development tool and does not add runtime functionality to packaged games.

The MCP server is intended for local use on the same trusted machine and is not designed to be exposed as a remote network service.

A compatible MCP client supporting Streamable HTTP is required and is not included with the plugin.

Generic reflection is intentionally controlled and does not provide unrestricted execution of arbitrary Unreal functions, Python, console commands, or C++ code.
