Media 1 for listing Bevel Shader — Real-Time Edge Shading

Description

Add rounded-edge highlights to hard-surface models without rebuilding their geometry. Select your objects, assign a bevel width profile, and tune the result in Project Settings.

REAL-TIME WORKFLOW

• Screen Space and hardware Ray Tracing modes, with optional spatial or temporal smoothing.

• Four configurable width profiles and bulk assignment from the Bevel menu.

• Works with supported existing opaque materials, including normal maps.

• English and French editor controls and user guides.

• A compact demonstration map and practical compatibility notes are included.

PATH TRACING — EXPERIMENTAL

Optional preparation generates compatible material copies for supported static meshes. Your original materials are preserved and remain accessible through the Bevel component. Disable preparation to restore the original assignments.

COMPATIBILITY

Windows 64-bit, DirectX 12, Shader Model 6, deferred rendering. Hardware Ray Tracing requires a compatible GPU and the Unreal project Ray Tracing settings. Unreal 5.6 and 5.7 require Substrate to be disabled. Unreal 5.8 supports Substrate in Blendable GBuffer mode; Adaptive GBuffer is not supported.

IMPORTANT LIMITS

This is a shading effect: mesh geometry and silhouettes are unchanged. Screen Space can only use visible surface information. Results and GPU cost depend on scene, resolution, bevel width and quality settings. Nanite, skeletal meshes, instanced meshes, forward rendering, mobile and VR are outside the supported scope. See the included engine compatibility guide for material and Path Tracing restrictions.

The promotional machinery and presentation scenes are demonstrations and are not included. The package includes the plugin source required for Unreal code plugin distribution, the compact demo, and customer documentation. No Unreal Engine source modifications are required.
