Modular Attachment System is a C++ plugin for Unreal Engine 5.7 that replaces hardcoded mesh swaps and manual asset management with a clean, data-driven fragment architecture. Define what attaches to an actor inside a single UAttachmentDefinition Data Asset, and let the system handle async loading, spawning, and runtime querying automatically.

Every attachment is composed of typed fragments — instanced UObjects edited inline inside the Data Asset. There are no separate assets to wire up and no Blueprint spaghetti. Each fragment carries a Gameplay Tag, which becomes its runtime identity. Once loaded, you retrieve any spawned component or fragment with a single tag lookup.

Asset loading is fully asynchronous and handled through UAssetManager's streamable system. The Data Asset and every mesh, texture, or Niagara system it references are batch-streamed in a two-phase pipeline — the game thread is never blocked. A World Subsystem deduplicates loads across actors: if ten characters share the same Definition, the assets are streamed once.
