The Taqiya is a traditional Kazakh headdress worn by children, men, and young women until marriage. The common Turkic name “tүbätäi” comes from the words “tobe/tübe/tope,” meaning an elevation (mountain peak). The Taqiya serves as protection against evil spirits and symbolizes piety and loyalty.
