Medium 1 für Eintrag Texel Texture Packer - One-Click PBR Channel Packing

Beschreibung

Stop wasting memory on loose PBR maps. Texel Texture Packer merges your Normal, Roughness, Height, AO, Specular and Base Color maps into optimized channel-packed textures - directly inside the editor, in one click.

WHY PACK?

A typical PBR material ships 5-6 separate textures. Packed, the same data fits in 2 textures - fewer samplers, less memory, faster materials. The default NSD + BCR layout gives you a complete PBR material in two BC7 textures:

- NSD: Normal X/Y in RG (rebuild Z with DeriveNormalZ), Specular in B, Height in A

- BCR: Base Color in RGB, Roughness in A

HOW IT WORKS

1. Select your textures in the Content Browser

2. Right-click, Pack Textures, pick a layout

3. Done. Packed textures are created next to your sources with correct compression and sRGB settings.

Or open the Texture Packer panel (toolbar button) for full control: drag and drop sources, live thumbnails, per-channel layout display, and a real composited preview of every texture before you pack - you see exactly what you will get.

FEATURES

- Smart detection: recognizes naming conventions from Poly Haven, ambientCG, Quixel Megascans, Poliigon, Substance and more (BaseColor, Albedo, Diffuse, Normal GL/DX, ORM/ARM/RMA/MRAO...). Multiple material sets are grouped automatically.

- Packs from masks you already packed - ORM, ARM, RMA, MRAO, ORD, NSD, NHM and BCR are read channel by channel, so a set of base color + normal + ORD keeps its roughness and its height. Every value keeps its gamma space, whatever bit depth the sources are.

- 4 built-in layouts: NSD+BCR (full PBR in 2 textures), NHM+BCR, ORM, ORD

- Custom layouts: build your own channel mapping, saved in your project settings

- Correct output: BC7 / Masks compression, sRGB flags, size matching, DirectX-OpenGL green flip option

- Live output preview: composited preview images of the packed result before packing

- Blueprint/Python scriptable: batch-pack entire libraries with TexturePackerLibrary

- Editor-only: zero runtime cost, nothing ships in your game
