Descripción
18 parallax space scenes, 20 rotating planets, for any engine. Six layers a scene: deep space, two star fields, a drifting nebula, a planet and an asteroid field, every layer a 1920x1080 PNG that tiles seamlessly both ways, so you can fly in any direction. Plus 20 planets turning in 48-frame loops, 8 tumbling asteroids and 6 nebula loops churning in place. Everything in three sets: 1080 and 540 HD, and pixel art drawn at its size, not shrunk.
Every one plays in the preview video.
What's inside6 sights: a spiral galaxy, a comet trailing its two tails, a binary star feeding its companion's disk, a wormhole, a supernova remnant round its pulsar and a star cluster, each a scene of its own
12 nebula scenes: deep blue, an aurora's green and violet, an alien purple under a teal-ringed giant, crimson, toxic green, golden, frozen, the void, rose, an inferno round a lava world, teal round an earthlike planet, and a galactic core with a black hole
20 rotating planets: terran with city lights on its night side, ocean, jungle, desert, rust, tundra, ice, lava, toxic, alien, crystal, a cratered moon, a barren rock, two gas giants with storms, two ringed giants, a star with its corona, a red dwarf and a black hole with its lensed disk
8 tumbling asteroids: rock, carbon, iron, ice, metal, and gold, crystal and magma with glowing veins
6 nebula loops: gas churning and stars twinkling, a seamless loop, for title screens and menus
Godot 4 player included: SpaceBackground.add(self, "alien") puts a scene behind yours and follows your Camera2D both ways; bg.change("void", 3.0) crossfades to another; SpaceBackground.sprite("planet_terran") gives you a planet turning.
The planet shader, live in Godot: SpacePlanet draws any of the 20 planets or 8 asteroids at any size, smooth or as pixels, turning forever: change its colours, seas, clouds, cities or rings, or point its sun.
Import steps for Unity and GameMaker in the README.
The scenes share their moods with Parallax Skies: take off from its starry night into the deep blue, from its aurora into the aurora, from its alien world into the alien scene under the same teal-ringed planet.
CompatibilityAny engine that draws a repeating texture or a sprite sheet: Unity, GameMaker, Godot, Defold, Construct, Phaser, LÖVE, MonoGame.
The Godot player and planet shader: Godot 4.3 to 4.7, tested on both ends and on every renderer.
In the Unity package: every scene as a prefab in each set, its layers tiled both ways over the camera's view and scrolling at their own rates as it pans, every planet, asteroid and nebula loop as a prefab with its animation clip, and a demo scene to pick a scene and take it apart a layer at a time; the pixel set point filtered. Unity 6.3+ with URP.
