## Interpretation of the Picture (Three-Character Composition)

1. Middle: Winged Goddess Nike

She raises her hand and is presenting a laurel wreath symbolizing victory to the man on the left; her wings are faintly visible above the background of the relief. The folds of her dress are smooth and light, still adhering to the wet dress technique.

2. Left: Young Man

Two main theories:

- Version A: Heracles (the mighty hero), a mythological hero, receiving a victory coronation;

- Version B: An Athenian athlete who won an event, this relief is a votive offering from the athlete to Athena.

The strong, bare chest, perfectly shaping the classical ideal human body.

3. Right: Goddess Athena

The protector of the Athenian city-state, her arm is placed on the man's shoulder, witnessing this coronation and representing the city-state's recognition of the victory.
