Loco AI is an AI-powered editor assistant for Unreal Engine 5. Tell it what to build (Blueprints, Widgets, Materials, Levels) and it builds them directly inside your project through Unreal's reflection system. The AI does not get tired. You spend less time wiring and more time designing.
What It can Build

Knows which exact Blueprint node you mean, even when the name is ambiguous. Picks the right one and shows you what it placed.
Before touching your Blueprint, checks that everything is in order. If something is missing, tells you exactly what to add first.
After every change, sometimes it can check if your logic actually runs at runtime. Disconnected nodes and broken chains or nodes are flagged before you hit Play.
When a name is ambiguous, the resolver picks the most-likely match using a compatibility-ranked fallback list rather than guessing.

The plugin itself is free. I recommend using Claude CLI or Codex CLI for code changes, see more here: https://ai.locodev.dev/requirements
For APIS, I recommend using only for getting to know answers which Epic Developer Assistant already covers this: https://dev.epicgames.com/community/assistant/unreal-engine
The plugin supports these APIs: Anthropic, OpenAI, Groq, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, or Google Gemini (some providers have free tiers). Local Ollama also connect directly but it's slow.

Results depend on your AI model. Loco AI prompts are tuned for Claude Sonnet and Opus. Run it on a weaker model and the output reflects that, that is not a plugin limitation.
