Poles to Wires is a procedural tool based on PCG to easily create wire fences, power Lines, clothlines, or any spline array pattern with meshes connected by wires, cables, or any meshes.

For these tools to work, these two plugins need to be activated:

features:

-Auto adaptation to environment: stick to landscape and static meshes in non-destructive way.

-High customization level: set every aspects of your pattern, such as wires number and wire pattern, distance between poles, damage level, randomization range, climbing and ground vegetation, decorative meshes quantity, meshes array, etc.

-Optimization tools: set cull and wpo distance by meshes, meshes types (wires, poles, vegetation, etc.) and meshes size.

-Create and save your presets to easily reuse and edit your patterns.

-Distinct vegetation preset to adapt your patterns to local biomes without recreating pattern presets.

-Store several preset in the same PCG to assign presets by spline and keep your scene clean.

-local adjustment: Remove local vegetation, wires, or place door or hero meshes (with or without gameplay element) in specific area using modifier, with non-destructive workflow.

-Override parameter by spline: Adjust damage and vegetation level by spline without changing preset.

-Pre-made examples presets of barbed fences, electric fences, and garden tomatoes tutors with all meshes, textures and materials.

-complete tutorial step by step with examples and illustrated troubleshooting directly in Unreal in the example map (also available in PDF file)

Poles to Wire contain 2 PCG model:

  • a lite version: quick and simple to setup, based on mesh arrays to create simple generic patterns

  • a complete version: longer to setup, but more precise. Based on assembly arrays. Complete version add features for more customization like doors placement, decorative objects, auto selection of best wire meshes based on distance between poles, etc.
