説明

Power Line Spline Tool — Modular Utility Poles

Build kilometres of believable power lines in seconds. Shape a spline and the tool places poles along it, randomises variants and rotation, and strings sagging wires between every attachment point.

Designed for urban, industrial and post-apocalyptic environments with an Eastern European infrastructure aesthetic.

FEATURES

  • Spline-driven placement — shape the spline, poles follow

  • 5 unique pole variants distributed randomly

  • Seeded randomisation — same seed, identical reproducible layout every time

  • Automatic wire generation — 8 wires per span, holder to holder

  • Catenary sag — wires droop naturally, per-wire slack scaled to span length. No physics, no runtime cost

  • Adjustable spacing, sag range, rotation variance

  • HISM instancing for poles with hierarchical culling

  • Bake to Packed Level Actor — instanced poles, merged wire meshes

  • Clean, commented Blueprint

TECHNICAL DETAILS

Unique Meshes: 8 (5 pole variants, 2 props, 1 wire)
Triangles: poles under 1,500 each; wire LOD0 under 500
Collision: Yes — simple primitives on poles, none on wires
LODs: Yes (wire mesh)
Materials: 1
Textures: 3 — Base Color, Normal, ORM
Texture Resolution: 4096×4096
Platforms: Windows, Mac
Documentation: Included

Note: Poles ship with Nanite disabled by design — at this density, LODs and HISM instancing outperform Nanite. Wires must remain non-Nanite, as Nanite does not correctly render Spline Mesh deformation.
