Matsumoto is an AI created by Dr. Matsumoto whose mission is to change the course of history to prevent a war between AIs and humans that will prove catastrophic to humanity. A charakter that changes his form during the Show, in the later half he changes into this Cube form as technology finally did catch up to his advanced AI.
