Description

Last of House Veyne · Bearer of the Autumn Flame Bloodline · Survivor of the Ashen March

On the continent of Eldoria, human kingdoms fight without end for the Crown of Embers. The elves remain sealed within the Eternal Mist Forest, and orc clans push south from the Ashen Wastes. Brynna Veyne was shaped by that war.

She was the youngest daughter of House Veyne, a border house whose black raven sigil has long marked both defense and dangerous diplomacy along the northern marches. Her mother belonged to a mixed-blood lineage of the elven frontier; the marriage was struck to secure limited elven support against the orc advance. Brynna grew up listening to reports of troop movements, supply shortages, and the cost of every delayed reinforcement. At sixteen she was sent into the Eternal Mist Forest as both hostage and observer — a living token of a fragile human-elf pact.

During her years in the elven court she learned to read the difference between a promise and a threat. She also saw captured orc warriors up close: not mindless raiders, but people driven by the same pressures that emptied northern villages. When she returned with sealed messages, Castle Veyne had already fallen. A human duke and an orc clan had struck a temporary bargain and launched a winter siege. Her father was displayed on the walls; her mother died attempting to activate a family seal. Brynna was pulled from the ruins by an elven scout and became the last bearer of the Autumn Flame bloodline.

Since the fall she has not remained a passive survivor. She has ridden with the remnants of northern forces in counterattacks, directed delaying actions along the river and ash plains, and moved through human courts as a displaced noble to trade intelligence and favors for grain and soldiers. She has watched lords sell one another for supply lines, seen elves withhold aid for their own advantage, and learned that some orc clans march south not only for plunder but because something older is stirring in the wastes. She still carries the half-map and remaining tokens her mother left behind — keys to an ancient site that multiple factions now seek.

Brynna presents as composed and courteous. In truth she is coldly pragmatic. She does not chase simple revenge. She seeks enough leverage to keep herself and what remains of the northern resistance alive inside a three-sided war. She can serve as a field commander, an exiled noble, a border negotiator, or a figure simultaneously useful and dangerous to every side.
