Please enable substrate materials in the project settings. If these materials are not enabled, the materials will appear grayed out.

This is an extremely flexible, simple, and fast-to-configure material for gemstones. The gemstone Unreal Engine material from SilverCord-VR Studio can simulate both photorealistic and stylized looks. Pre-configured materials are included in the demo scene.

This material utilizes fakes of real effects, allowing for incredibly flexible and easy customization of its appearance, independent of, or with partial dependency on, the scene’s environment settings.

Because the most challenging aspect of beautifully rendering jewelry is selecting appropriate lighting and reflections, this material significantly simplifies the process. You'll find it much easier to utilize the desired parameter or texture, as well as shift, resize, or rotate reflection, specular, and refraction textures. You can completely alter the material’s appearance with conveniently exposed settings.

Effects can not only be customized but also enabled or disabled. A large number of parameters are adjustable, including:

* glitter highlights

* glitter highlight brightness

* glitter highlight placement

* Fake reflection angle of the light source for glitter

* Texture responsible for specular highlights and their shape

* Refraction effects

* Refraction appearance structure, size of its texture

* Reflection color, position relative to the camera

* Fresnel reflections, their color and intensity from the angle relative to the camera.

The gemstones you can simulate using SilverCord-VR Unreal Engine diamond material include: Diamond, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Amethyst, Aquamarine, Garnet, Topaz, Citrine, Peridot, Zircon, Spinel, Quartz, Iolite, Hessonite Garnet. Please note – the material does not include dedicated settings for simulating these specific stones; however, the parameters are easily adjustable, allowing you to achieve a look very similar to the listed gemstones.

The original material is based on Substrate Material technology, but the package includes two simplified versions of the material that do not utilize Substrate and are compatible with any engine version (these materials can also be used as an alternative to the main one at lower LODs).

Note: The material's functioning is affected by the presence of UV mapping on the object. For precious stones, a simple perpendicular to the "face" surface projection inside the object's boundaries will suffice.
